Free Summer Camp
June | 8 a.m.-Noon
Southwest School
We are proud to offer the Everyone Can Create summer camp. Students entering third through eighth grade next school year are eligible to participate in one of five free, exciting classes, taught by Roosevelt teachers and Apple professionals. Students will be divided into two groups: third through fifth grade and sixth through eighth grade. Bus transportation to Southwest School may be requested.

Everyone Can Code
This camp introduces learners to the world of coding through interactive puzzles, fun characters, and engaging offline and online activities. At the end of this camp, students will be able to identify and use the Swift coding language and algorithms to solve puzzles.

Everyone Can Create: Arts Camp
Explore drawing, photography, music, and drama in this week-long arts camp. Participate in imaginative learning experiences that include a fun class performance to enhance the experience.

Everyone Can Create: Movie Making for the Community
Learn how to use apps like Camera, Clips, and iMovie to create a video story to inform the community about a topic learner’s are most passionate about. On the last day of camp, attendees will attend a red carpet screening of all videos.

Architecture Camp (6th-8th Grade Only)
In this camp, students will work with a team of professional architects from the National Organization of Minority Architects to design a building that addresses a need within the student’s community.

Community App Challenge (6th-8th Grade Only)
Working in a collaborative group, in this camp students will apply the Design Thinking process to plan an app to address a community need. On the final day of camp, teams will pitch their app to a team of professionals who will declare a winner. No coding experience is needed!
