An Update from the Superintendent's Office
Dec. 12, 2022
Hello Roosevelt Community,
As we approach the winter months, we are seeing a rise of COVID, Flu and RSV cases in our community and schools. It can be very difficult to tell these illnesses apart due to the similarities in symptoms.
We are urging you to keep your child home when they are sick and get them tested as soon as possible to rule out COVID. Charts available in English and Spanish may be downloaded to help explain each one in detail and illustrate their differences.
Here are a few tips to help ensure you stay healthy and safe:
- Get your vaccines against COVID and Flu.
- Stay home when sick and cover your cough or sneeze and get tested for COVID if you have any symptoms or are exposed.
- If your child tests positive for COVID, please stay home for a minimum of five days and return to school wearing a mask on days six through ten.
- Get plenty of rest and make healthy food and beverage choices to boost your immune system.
Please feel free to reach out to your school nurse or health service technician for clarification if you have any questions about when to send your child to school. We are here to serve and help in any way.
If you need help finding a testing site for COVID, please reach out to your school nurse or FACE coordinator on your school campus or visit maricopa.gov/5588/COVID-19-Testing.
Be Well and Be Bold,
Roosevelt Leadership Team
