     Sept. 22, 2020

    Hello Roosevelt Community,

The safety, health and well-being of our students, staff and community continues to remain at the forefront of all decisions at the Roosevelt School District.

We continue to monitor the Maricopa County COVID-19 data, specifically for our South Phoenix community (zip codes 85040, 85041 and 85042), and are using the information to make the most informed and safest decisions regarding returning to school in-person.

Based on the current COVID-19 data for our community, our students will remain in a virtual learning setting until at least the end of the first trimester of this school year, which is November 6, 2020.

We will continue to evaluate the data on a weekly basis and solicit input from our families as to their preferences regarding in-person learning and virtual learning options.

In preparation for a safe return to in-person learning when appropriate, our district has developed a brief return to school survey for our families. It is extremely important that we gather information from our families on their preferred learning setting. Families can complete the survey to provide their preferences and feedback. Once equipped with the survey results and the Maricopa County data, we will determine next steps.

Continuing with our commitment to keeping our community informed, our team will communicate updates in a timely manner. For the latest information and updates on returning to school, please visit this Return to School page ( for updates.

In accordance with any applicable law, regulation, order or Governing Board policy, the information contained in this letter may be subject to change. Please continue to regularly review the website listed above for important updates.

Again, thank you for your continued patience and support as we continue to navigate during this pandemic.

    Warmest regards,

    Quintin Boyce,
    Ed.D. Superintendent
