Reinventing RSD Progress Monitoring Report | May 5, 2026

During the May meeting, the governing board heard updates on the superintendent community advisory committees, capital projects and investment in special education services.

Advisory Committees

The Parent and Community Advisory Committee recommends that the district strengthen direct student support, prioritize safety and campus conditions, and expand academic and enrichment opportunities to better meet student and family needs. This includes increasing support in special education classrooms and staffing, investing in safe and well-maintained facilities, and providing greater access to programs such as after-school activities, tutoring, STEM opportunities, and sports. These priorities are intended to improve the overall student experience, foster engagement, and position the district as a strong choice for families, we also do have our last interfaith advisory Committee meeting schedule for this coming Thursday.

Tier 2 MTSS Support

General and Special Education Staffing

The District is adding 10 general education teachers and 8 ESS teachers for the 2026-27 school year.

General education teachers will help reduce class sizes and increase individual student support.

ESS teachers will help meet student needs, ensure IEP compliance, and improve services.

These additions support strong instruction and the success of all students.

Special Area Staffing

Increasing staffing in special areas for the next school year.

More special areas will expand student access to fine arts, enrichment, and hands-on learning.

Increased staffing also allows for an optimal master schedule at each campus in line with our MTSS model.

Paraprofessional Staffing

Adding approximately 30 paraprofessionals to expand Tier 2 student supports for the 2026-27 school year.

Paraprofessionals will provide targeted small-group support, primarily in reading, during the intervention block.

This investment ensures students receive the right support at the right time within our MTSS model.
