STAR Assessment

Scores on the STAR Reading Assessment show consistent performance across the August, October and December exams, with second- and eighth-grade students demonstrating an increase in overall proficiency.

January Through May Focus

Key Input Monitoring and Implementation

Continued focus on implementation and refinement of key inputs from August through December. These inputs are monitored through weekly learning walks, the District Instructional Leadership Team, and monthly Principal and Instructional Coach Data Analysis meetings.

  • Priority Reading Plans

  • Curriculum maps and unit plans

  • Weekly planning and data meetings for PLTs

  • Use of common exit ticket/re-teach data tracker

  • DnA assessments

  • IXL for adaptive interventions

Targeted Tutoring

  • Nine Consecutive Weeks

  • 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 8th grade math small-group tutoring focused on:

    • Math fluency

    • Multi-step word problems

    • Individual skill gaps

    • AASA-aligned tasks

  • Daily exit tickets from DnA

  • Daily plans and resources created and provided by the district math team

Jan. 5 Professional Day

MTSS-B Training

  • Strengthen implementation of district-wide MTSS-B components:

    • Schoolwide expectations

    • Classroom procedures

    • 15 RSD Social Skills (from Boys Town)/Skill of the Week

  • Equip teachers with strategies to minimize off-task behaviors and strategies to respond to disruptive behaviors in the classroom

  • Valley View: Strengthen implementation of The Leader in Me

  • TG Barr: International Baccalaureate Programme unit and assessment planning
