Dear Parents and Guardians,

This is a safety reminder regarding the use of the school crosswalk during arrival and dismissal times.

For the safety of our students and crossing guard, parents may not drive through the crosswalk while the crossing guard or students are still in the roadway. Drivers must wait until the crossing guard and all students have completely cleared the crosswalk before proceeding forward.

Student and staff safety is our top priority. Your patience and cooperation are essential in keeping everyone safe during these busy times.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to invite you to an upcoming Math Workshop for Parents designed to help you better understand what your student is learning in math class and how you can support them at home.
During this workshop, we will:
Review the math concepts students are currently working on in class
Share strategies and tools you can use at home to help your student succeed
Answer questions and provide clarity on math expectations and instruction
This workshop is a great opportunity to learn alongside your student and gain confidence in supporting their learning. We strongly encourage all parents to attend so you can stay informed and help your student reach their full potential.

Join us for our free mobile food distribution, in collaboration with St. Mary's Food Bank, on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 8 a.m. Food items will be distributed in the parking lot of Bernard Black Entrepreneurial Academy.

Dear Southwest Families,

Staying connected is essential, and we want to make sure you never miss important information. If you have not yet signed up for the RSD app, we kindly encourage you to do so as soon as possible. This platform allows you to:

Receive weekly school updates and see what’s coming up
Communicate directly with your child’s teacher
Get urgent or emergency alerts in real time
We want every family to stay informed, and we are here to support you. If you need help getting signed up, please stop by the front office at any time—we are happy to assist.

You are also invited to join Miss Patty in the library on December 11th at 7:50 AM, where she will personally help you download and set up the RSD app on your device.

St. Mary’s Community Mobile Food Distribution
Please join us for our free mobile food distribution in collaboration with St. Mary’s Food Bank.

🚌 Farm Fresh Food Bus
In partnership with Activate Food Arizona, the Student Wellness Departments is bringing the Farm Fresh Bus to the District Office!
Stop by to shop high-quality, farm-fresh produce at reduced prices.

📝 Annual Parent/Caregiver Survey

Share your experiences and perceptions of Southwest School and the Roosevelt School District to help us understand what’s working well and where we can address barriers to engagement, better support families, and ensure our services are meeting the needs of our community.

The survey is anonymous and available in English and Spanish.

Students whose parents/caregivers complete the survey will receive raffle tickets and 25 PBIS points. The classroom with the highest completion rate wins a pizza party! To ensure your student receives their incentives:

1. Complete the survey.

2. Screenshot the final confirmation page.

3. Share the screenshot with your student's teacher or a school staff member.
