Maxine O. Bush Future Ready Academy Design Process

During the February Governing Board Meeting, the Roosevelt Governing Board heard about how Maxine O. Bush Future Ready Academy was intentionally developed, the rationale behind key decisions, and how coherence has been maintained throughout the planning process.

The official open-enrollment boundaries were also established, meaning that any Pre-K through second-grade student, regardless of home address, is welcome to attend.

Information about a four-day instructional week model was also shared. Under this proposal, students would experience a traditional school day Monday through Thursday and have a more flexible schedule on Friday to support student choice, enrichment, and deeper exploration of skills and interests.

Ultimately, the Bush Future Ready Academy is being designed with community and research grounded in learning science. Purposeful decisions about grades, enrollment, and identity ensure the school is built for sustainability and future readiness while honoring the district's vision to create better futures for all through education.
