Hello Kennedy Families! Thursday, Oct. 31, is FREE DRESS day! Your child can wear regular clothes or a costume (optional). If they dress up, please no masks, fake blood, or toy weapons. Have questions? Call the office! Let’s have a fun, safe day together!
John F. Kennedy Families,
The safety and security of students is highest priority at John F. Kennedy.
For this reason, we wanted to communicate that a safety concern in our neighborhood. Yesterday, while walking home from school, three students were allegedly approached by two suspicious individuals in a blue Jeep or pick-up truck and attempted to lure them into the vehicle.
This happened at approximately 10th Street and Fremont.
Upon learning of the incident, we contacted Phoenix PD and have requested an increased police presence at this time. In addition, we have additional staff monitoring the area of campus closest to where this took place during student arrival and dismissal.
We encourage all students to report suspicious activity to trusted adults or proper authorities. In addition, we ask adults share the information quickly as well. Timely reporting supports safety throughout our community.
This is a good time to remind your children about personal safety. Here are some important tips you may speak with your children about:
• Ask your children to alert a trusted adult about any suspicious activity.
• Have students travel to and from school or to the bus stop with a friend or parent – establish a buddy system.
• Speak to your child about not talking to strangers, accepting rides or anything from people they don’t know.
• Reassure your child that our schools are safe; teachers and administrators will be reinforcing safety on each campus.
Thanks for partnering with us to ensure safety is a priority at our schools.

Families,
Did you know that only 2 absences a month can add up to missing 10% of the school year? That is 10% of all of the learning at their grade level. Please help your students achieve all they can by getting them to school every day as long as they are not sick.
Thank you for supporting learning!
