Good Morning Eagle Families,

I’m excited to share that the AC units in both our gymnasium and cafeteria are now fully operational. With these repairs complete, all activities and schedules will resume as normal, ensuring our students and staff enjoy a comfortable, climate-controlled environment that supports learning and growth.

With this behind us, we can return our full focus to what matters most—helping our students grow into the leaders they are meant to be.

Have a wonderful day, the EAGLE WAY!

Sincerely,
Mr. Mitchell
Principal

Atentamente,
Sr. Mitchell

Dear Eagle Families,

We want to inform you of a temporary change to our lunch procedures. Due to an unexpected issue with the air conditioning in the cafeteria, the space has become too hot for students to eat safely and comfortably.

Until the issue is resolved, students will be eating lunch in their classrooms, where the temperature is more suitable. Our team will assist with the safe delivery and pick-up of lunches to ensure students still receive their meals on time.

We understand that changes like this can be inconvenient, but the health and well-being of our students is our top priority. Please rest assured that we are actively working on both a short-term and long-term solution to restore normal lunch operations as soon as possible.

Thank you for your continued patience, understanding, and support as we navigate this temporary adjustment.

Warm regards,
Mr. Mitchell

Dear Eagle Families,

Thank you all for your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we worked through our dismissal process during the first days of school. We know that the experience may have felt longer or more hectic than expected, and we truly appreciate your cooperation during this time of transition.

Our primary goal is to ensure that every student is dismissed safely and securely, and sometimes that means adjusting systems as we learn what works best. While the process may not have been perfect, your support and grace have made a tremendous difference.

Please know that we are actively working to revise and improve our dismissal procedures to make them more efficient, faster, and far less stressful for everyone involved. These updates will prioritize both student safety and smoother operations for families and staff.

You can expect a new and improved process to be shared with you shortly, along with clear directions to help everything run more seamlessly moving forward.

Thank you again for being such valued partners in your child's education. We’re excited about the year ahead and committed to making each day better than the last!

Warm regards,

Mr. Mitchell

Dear Valley View Leadership Academy Students, Families, Staff, and Community,

I am honored and excited to introduce myself as the new Principal of Valley View Leadership Academy. My name is Melvin Mitchell, and I am deeply committed to continuing the legacy of leadership, academic excellence, and community partnership that defines VVLA. It is a privilege to serve such a vibrant and inspiring school community.
Valley View is not just a school, it's a place where leadership is cultivated, voices are empowered, and potential is unleashed. As a proud Leader in Me Lighthouse School and a partner with Project Momentum, our mission is clear: to inspire greatness in every student, every day.

I bring 16 years of experience in education as a teacher, instructional leader, and school administrator. At the core of my leadership is a belief in the brilliance of every child, the power of collaborative teamwork, and the transformative impact of equity-centered practices.

As we prepare for an exciting year ahead, here are a few key things I want our community to know:
We are a Leadership School: Our commitment to student leadership, character development, and academic growth will continue to guide our decisions and priorities.

Family Partnerships Matter: I believe schools are strongest when families and educators are UNITED. You are a vital part of our school’s success.

Communication is Key: I will be visible, accessible, and responsive. In the future, I will host listening sessions and meet-and-greets to hear your hopes and ideas.
Our Vision is Bold: Together we are committed to focusing on instruction to increase student achievement by ensuring that all students are learning at high levels.

We will continue to share updates through our school website, newsletters, and social media. If you have questions or ideas, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly at (602) 232-4980 ext.10601 .
This is more than a new school year, it’s a fresh opportunity to elevate our leadership, our learning, and our legacy. I look forward to meeting each of you and working alongside our amazing staff to ensure that Valley View Leadership Academy remains a beacon of excellence.

With pride and anticipation,

Melvin Mitchell

The Valley View Eagle Band traveled to Anaheim to perform in the Universal Studios Stars program on this past Saturday. With a memorized 30 minute set, the Eagle Band played pop songs spanning several decades. After the performance, band students enjoyed the day at Universal and the trip was full of making lots of core memories. Special thank you to Mrs. Rodriguez and chaperones for all their time and dedication.
