Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we enter the last week of school, please note the following important reminders:

-Students will no longer be required to bring backpacks to school. If a student brings a backpack, it will be kept in the front office for the entire school day.
-We will have Early Release on Wednesday, May 20th and Friday, May 22nd. Please make arrangements for your student(s) to be picked up on time.
-Tuesday, May 19th will be Field Day for all grade levels during their scheduled time. Please make sure your student brings a change of clothing.
-Kindergarten Promotion will be held at 9:00 AM in the cafeteria.
-8th Grade Promotion will take place today at Cesar Chavez High School at 5:00 PM.

Dear Parents/Guardians,
This is a reminder that we are NO LONGER allowing $1.00 dress down days. All students are required to wear their school uniform every day.
If a student arrives out of dress code, a parent/guardian will need to provide an appropriate uniform for their student.
Please review the approved uniform guidelines below:
Uniform Bottoms:
Khaki
Navy Blue
Black
NO leggings, spandex, or similar attire

Uniform Tops:
Any solid-colored collared shirt
NO designs, graphics, or logos on shirts

We appreciate your cooperation and support in helping all students follow the school dress code policy.

Southwest School is currently participating in a PRACTICE emergency response drill. There is NOT an emergency at the school. Once the PRACTICE drill is complete, we will return to regularly scheduled classes. Thank you.

Parents, We are letting you know that Southwest School staff and students will be participating in a PRACTICE emergency response drill in the near future. You will receive a similar notification at the time of the practice drill. Parents, do not come to the school, or call the school during the PRACTICE drill, as our staff will be participating and not available to open doors or answer phones. Once the PRACTICE drill is complete, we will return to regularly scheduled classes. Thank you.
